Bias repair patches are designed for both tubeless and tube-type tires. They offer excellent flexibility, greater strength, and construction that has been proven safe and dependable through millions of miles. Manufactured with a ply of rubber between the fabric and cushion gum, which acts as a shock-absorbing ply. The repair unit construction allows for easy application and enables repairs closer to the tire bead, eliminating the need for separate sidewall repair units.
A wide selection of bias-ply (cross-ply) repair units is available for applications on passenger, truck, OTR, agricultural, and industrial tires.
Using Methods
1. Inspect the tire for repairability; mark the injury and remove the injuring object.
2. Probe the injury to determine exact size and direction, ensuring all debris is removed.
3. Select the appropriate patch. Apply pre-buff cleaner and use a rubber scraper. Drill the injury channel 3 times from both sides using a Carbide Cutter.
4. Cement the injury channel and install the vulcanizing insert. Buff the area to a velvet-like texture and apply vulcanizing cement; let dry thoroughly.
5. Remove backing, center the patch over the injury, and stitch down thoroughly from the center outward.
6. Apply Inner Liner Sealer around the edges of the repair patch to the overbuff area.
